ALISON RUTH – DIRECTOR
Alison Ruth is the Founder and Artistic Director of The Grumble Theater. She is a director and dramaturg originally from Boston, MA. She has an MFA in Dramaturgy from The University of Iowa, where she met playwright Nina Morrison and fell in love with Féminaal after dramaturging the play’s first production in 2015. Her passion for exciting plays that challenge the theatrical status quo is second only to her love of pugs.
JENI O’MALLEY – COSTUME AND SCENIC DESIGN
Jeni O’Malley works as a costume and scenic designer as well as an exhibit designer for MNHS. Jeni is also visiting assistant professor of Scenography at Macalester College. She has done work with Sidra Bell Dance New York, Roosevelt University in Chicago IL, Mixed Blood , Penumbra, Children’s Theatre Company, MN History Theatre, The Jungle, The Guthrie, Santa Fe Opera, Theatre Latte Da, Ten Thousand Things, Theatre Novi Most and The University of Minnesota. Her innovative work has been published and presented internationally at World Stage Design, Innovative Costume Design of the 21 Century – Next Generation, USITT, American Society of Mechanical Engineers, and The International Symposium on Wearable Computers. KEVIN SPRINGER – SOUND DESIGN
Kevin Springer is a Twin Cities sound designer, engineer, and educator. His design work has been heard throughout the Twin Cities with companies such as In the Heart of the Beast Puppet and Mask Theatre, Minnesota Opera, Penumbra Theatre, and Theatre Latté Da. As an educator, Kevin has taught theater sound design at the University of Minnesota and to both middle and high school age students through Technical Tools of the Trade and Shakespearean Youth Theatre. He holds a Master of Fine Arts in Theatre Design and Technology from the University of Minnesota.
